After the death of her husband, Janet decides to distract herself by rearing a goose, which is to be the centrepiece of her Christmas dinner. However, as she grows ever more isolated from her daughter, Janet’s need to nurture the goose becomes an obsession: one which will cost her dearly. A modern day Grimm’s fairy-tale about grief, isolation… and a goose.

Jim Henson hosts an anthology series. The typical format has the first part being the misadventures of Muppet TV as Kermit the Frog struggles to operate a Muppet TV super station with the usual level of help from his friends. The second part is the Storyteller as an old man and his sarcastic dog tell obscure fairy tales in the tradition of the great classics.

Sure we’re interested in Jim Henson’s work as a filmmaker and creative innovator, but his brilliant talents as a performer are often overlooked. As a puppeteer, he created such indelible characters as Kermit the Frog, Rowlf the Dog, Ernie, and the Swedish Chef. This compilation illuminates the development and evolution of these classic characters – and many more.

Following Jim Henson's passing on May 16th 1990, two public memorial services were held. The first (featured here) was held in New York at Cathedral of St. John the Divine on May 21, 1990. The second service was held in London at St. Paul's Cathedral on July 2nd 1990.
